Comparison Rate Calculator. The True Cost of Your Loan.
Headline rates can hide fees. This calculator shows the comparison rate, your real cost over the life of the loan.
Australian Credit Licence 509582. Fees and lender criteria apply.
The rate in the box is an example input. This figure is an illustration only, chosen to show how the calculation works. It is not a rate offered or available to you. Your rate depends on the lender, the vehicle, the loan amount and term, and the lender's assessment of your circumstances. Repayments shown here leave out fees.
Save these numbers and we'll come back with a real rate from our 50+ lender panel. Starting your enquiry uses a soft credit check only. A hard enquiry usually occurs if you proceed with a formal application to a lender, and that can affect your credit score.
Frequently asked questions
What is a comparison rate?
A comparison rate combines the interest rate and standard fees into a single percentage to help you compare loans on a like for like basis. It's required by Australian law on most loan advertisements.
Why does my real cost differ from the headline rate?
Establishment fees, monthly account fees, and ongoing charges are excluded from the headline rate but included in the comparison rate.
Can two loans have the same rate but different costs?
Yes. Two loans both quoted at 7.99% can have very different total costs if one has a $400 establishment fee and $10/month account fee, and the other has none.
